A private hot spring in every villa.
Set the world down at the gate and enter a slower one, ordered by frequency, harmony and vibration.
Bathe湯
in a rockpool cut from granite, in a courtyard enclosed on every side; the water fell as rain on the Alps and has been arriving ever since.
Breathe息
under the hands of a therapist, or alone at dusk beside a struck bowl; the note is a long while leaving the valley.
Eat食
from a Japanese kitchen: gelatin drawn from seven hour simmers, sweetness from Goulburn Valley stone fruit, everything carried hot to the door.
We advocate hot water, long sleep, unhurried meals,
a quantity of silence, and the occasional struck bowl.
A hot spring of one’s own, above Lake Eildon.
Rain that fell on the Victorian Alps has spent millennia working down through fractured granite; beneath this site it finds a fissure and rises. It surfaces here and nowhere else. What stands here is what will ever stand here.
The water
Water that fell as rain on the Alps and rose through granite, carrying magnesium, bicarbonate, silica, calcium and salt. Certified a healing water, and 38.6°C by the time it reaches the courtyard.
